ShirtFight – Mixing it up

So I don’t know how I missed this one. I was surfing some t-shirt web sites earlier today and somewhere hit a link to this new t-shirt contest site called ShirtFight.com.

Let me just start by saying, “Damn, I wish I had thought of that.”

I love the name. Brings up some great images. Funny logo too:

Dude’s not only missing a tooth – but he has pink eye. Isn’t that contagious? Should he really be fighting? He must love him some t-shirts.

Anyways – it’s a neat concept. I’m pretty excited to see how it works as it’s a little bit of a spin on the typical t-shirt contest site pioneered by Threadless, now populated by an ever growing number of sites with a range of success rates.

I’ve been watching Teextile for a while because I like the design of the site, the quality of the designs they’ve been attracting, and overall positive feeling I get while there waiting for the next week’s five designs. I’ve picked up two shirts from them in the first two weeks and should be getting them in the next day or so, can’t wait to check them out.

I think I’ll be watching ShirtFight as well just because I want to see how it works out. I like the personality of this site as the husband and wife team that are building this community and running this site seem goofy and fun. And it comes out in the site as they have pictures of themselves posing with big goofy boxing gloves and their t-shirts all over.

Each week they give designers a new topic. Like the current one is: Eating Junk Food Before Going to Bed. Some crazy designs people are coming up with. That’s what’s really neat as it’s forcing designers to come up with new designs for them rather than just submitting designs that never made it at Threadless or DBH.

Good luck.

It’s fun to have these fresh new sites all jostling for a piece of the pie. Hopefully some good new t-shirts will come out of the mix.

***If you haven’t checked it out yet, we’re giving away $50 bucks in our very own little blog contest. Details here.
