What I really like about UberPrints is that it reminds me of the old school t-shirt shop. You know, the kind you find in the strip mall that is jam packed with t-shirts and also does custom work?
UberPrints is an online version of one of those shops. They have a large selection of t-shirt styles and colors for you to choose from. They carry brands like Hanes and Jerzees as well as a few others so the quality is pretty good.
You also have the ability to design custom t-shirts. You can upload your own artwork for the t-shirts, or you can select from their large selection of clip-art. Their design studio program is pretty easy to use, and allows you access to the clip art that is available. The printing area is pretty large so you have a lot of room to work with. What I like about the design studio is the text editor. It supplies you with some of the most popular t-shirt style fonts. You know, the “Property of” and others like that. It also gives you the ability to control the size, spacing, and curvature of the text.
Even if you don’t have any design experience, using the design studio on UberPrints is really simple.
UberPrints offers two types of printing - digital and screen printing. With the screen printing there is a minimum order of 12 shirts - I’m sure this is because it does take some work to set up a screen to print on the t-shirts. With the digital printing, you can order just 1 shirt if you like though you have to stick with the lighter colored shirts.
UberPrints doesn’t have a marketplace, so you can’t set up a online shirt shop like CafePress or Spreadshirt, but if you’re looking for simplicity and ease of use, then UberPrints might be the online t-shirt printing shop that you need to check out.
Spreadshirt is quickly becoming a popular custom t-shirt site. Unlike CafePress, Spreadshirt allows you a lot more freedom on where you can print on a t-shirt, as well as allowing printing on the sleeves of the shirts. However, one of the disadvantages of Spreadshirt is that there is no formal marketplace like CafePress’s marketplace, therefore if you have a shop set up on Spreadshirt, you’re largely responsible for bringing traffic to your shop.
On Spreadshirt, you can upload your own designs to print on shirts, or you can use one of their stock images that have been uploaded by other people. If you want to load designs onto the site for others to use, you can, though images are screened before being made available to make sure they’re “cool” enough. You can set your own commission on any designs you upload.
Spreadshirt also offers premium shop services. You can even upgrade to a version of a shop where you can have custom invoices and logos, as well as zero advertising from Spreadshirt in your shop, for $10 a month. But like I said before, the site does little promotion for these shops, so it’s up to the shop owners to promote their own shops.
One of the things that is really neat about designing custom work on Spreadshirt is that if you choose to use one of the stock images from the site, you can add text and edit it in the t-shirt interface making your shirt truly unique. Features like this really outpace CafePress’ options, but promotion will probably make this site a bit more difficult to use for the new t-shirt shop owners.
So for design options I believe that Spreadshirt is better than CafePress, but ease of use goes to CafePress over Spreadshirt.

Not too long ago there used to be only a few options for designing and printing your own custom t-shirts online. These days, there are a lot of different websites offering custom t-shirt printing and design services. So which sites are the best? Well, that depends on what you are looking for.
Over the next two weeks I’m going to be doing a series of T-Shirt Design Site Reviews. These are the ten sites that we’ll be reviewing with links to each site. These are ten of the best t-shirt design sites on the web. Each is a little bit different and if you’re looking for specific things we’ll show you what each site is capable of.

Speaking of CafePress, here’s another poker t-shirt from my poker t-shirt shop on CafePress. This is my ‘Fish and ATM‘ t-shirt that is perfect for wearing at the poker table when you’re surrounded by fish and people that lose lots and lots of money at the poker table. Might as well let them know what you think of their poker game, eh?

If you’re looking for a way to design your own t-shirts, without a lot of hassle or difficulty, then CafePress is a good place to start.

I’ve been using CafePress for about a year and a half now, and think the service is great. Of course, I also get a check from them each month for the t-shirts that I have sold through my CafePress shop.
Not only can you design 1 item to buy, you can put your design in your own CafePress shop which don’t cost a thing to start. By doing this you are offering your design to whoever wants to buy it. People can find your designs by visiting your shop, or by searching in the CafePress marketplace.
A basic shop is free, but is limited in the number of items that it can carry. Another option is to upgrade your shop to a premium shop - which costs $6.95 a month. I have 2 premium shops on CafePress. I haven’t paid the fee (out of my own pocket) since the first month. Since then I have always made enough in shirt sales to cover it.
You have the ability to control the pricing in your shop as well which is really nice. Each item has a base price. For example, if a white shirt base cost is $13.99, you can mark that price up to whatever you want in your shop. So if you sell the shirt for $19.99, you make $6.00 for each sale of that shirt.
My shops aren’t anything real special, but they do bring in a nice chunk of change each month and I don’t have to do anything to the shops - though I occasionally upload new designs.
If you would rather just design a single product, it’s super easy to do that as well. You can produce as many or as few of a product as you would like. For example - we had a special event that some friends and I put together. I designed a shirt and made one for each person. I wasn’t required to buy a certain amount or anything like that. You get what you want.
So, if for the holidays you want to send Grandma a shirt with a picture of her grandkids, you can do that or if you’ve always wanted a shirt with a picture of your dog on it - check out CafePress.
You would expect this to happen more often when dealing with stoners. 4:20 is such an exact time for a commonly late group. The ‘4:21 - It Took Me A Minute To Find My Bong’ T-Shirt is a great gift for your smoking buddies this Christmas. Shoot, you could probably give it to them on the 26th and everybody would be ok with that.

I think this might be the original funny shirt. This shirt probably started the whole funny t-shirt business way back when. The ‘I’m With Stupid’ t-shirt is so old that Jesus was wearing it when he made your momma.
Ok. Sorry, I’ve been watching ‘Yo Momma.’

I have this t-shirt - the “I have words on my shirt” T-shirt in my CafePress Shop. You can get it in this really comfortable organic cotton t shirt or any number of other styles and colors.

Lol. That’s really all I can say about the “No, I will not fuck your cat” T-Shirt from T-Shirt Hell. Well, I guess that I can say that’s it’s only $18 bucks as well, - more than worth it for the laughs you’re going to get at Grandma’s this Christmas wearing this shirt.

I laughed when I saw this and decided I had to have this shirt - brings back so many childhood memories of the Muppets. The ‘Beaker and Bunsen Dissecting Kermit’ T-Shirt is available from T-Shirt Hell and it looks great on green or any other color you want. Check it out:
